Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Roles at Swindon & District Cruse

Bereavement Volunteers

Our Bereavement Volunteers work on a one-to-one basis with clients either face to face, in groups or via telephone support.  We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds - no previous experience is necessary.  We are also able to offer placements to student counsellors.  Anyone interested in the role of Bereavement Volunteer will need to complete the Cruse Bereavement Support Foundation Course

Volunteer Supervisors

We currently have vacancies for volunteer Supervisors.  Are you a qualified supervisor looking for volunteer work? Have you current or recent experience as a supervisor? Facilitated at least 15 supervision sessions? Experience of working with a variety of clients and supervisees of all genders, ages and a range of backgrounds? Do you have a good understanding of loss and bereavement? If yes, we would like to hear from you.

Referral Volunteers

Referral volunteers are the first point of contact for bereaved clients who contact Cruse for support. The role includes responding to telephone queries, providing emotional support to clients, recording of information on a database system, allocating clients to bereavement volunteers and regularly contacting clients on the waiting list to offer reassurance. All potential Referral Volunteers will need to attend the Cruse Bereavement Support Foundation Course.

If you are interested in any of the above volunteer roles, please contact us on 01793 619933 or email swindon@cruse.org.uk
